Following the historic pandemic shutdown, Diann Bayes, the Vice President of the San Angelo Convention and Visitors Bureau, a San Angelo Chamber of Commerce division, decided to take a “little” road trip. She set out to drive the state’s perimeter with travel industry friends Morgan Taylor and Debra Bustos. Not only did they drive around Texas, but Bayes also blogged, took photos, and videoed the trip. They were driving more than 3,100 miles for a true Texas-shaped road trip in just nine days.

“Out of the 1,221 towns I found on a list of incorporated Texas towns, I’ve been to almost 600. There are several unincorporated towns in Texas and my best guess is I’ve been to an additional 100 of those. Of the 254 Texas counties in the state, I only have 20 more to visit.”
